Make letterhead in Microsoft Word

Letterhead:

A letterhead is best suitable for your business as it contains the name and logo of your company and necessary details. You can show professionalism through your letterhead.

Purpose of letterhead:

In business you have to communicate with your clients that deal with your company. For this purpose letterhead is useful for your business as its format is basic and has low expenses.

Create letterhead template on MS Word:

Sometimes it is required to make letterhead for an event or some special type of project. A letterhead for such events should not fancy and extra bright with lots of graphics. Don’t waste your precious time and important money for making fancy letterheads. You can make letterhead in the way you want with the help of Microsoft Word. If you use Microsoft Word to design your letterhead template then outcome is unique than usual. You can make your letterhead in no time and easily.

The no-muss, no-fuss letterhead template:

Make your own letterhead template on MS Word 2003 and MS Word 2007 by following the points given below. Once you create letterhead template you can make many documents for your business or company with in short time.

Open new document:

Firstly open new document in Word. Use .dot extension for word 2003 or for .dot extension for 2007 save new document as a template. After giving the unique name to the new template, save it in specific folders for templates. It will be available any time as you can make many documents from the same template whenever you need.

Enter letterhead text:

In Word 2007 click Insert > Header > Blank and if you are using Word 2003 then click View > Header and Footer. In any of one versions of Word enter text of your letterhead then click Insert > picture/graphics from file in Word 2003/2007.

Customize and Insert image:

If you want to add graphics and images then you can select from the file in Word. Select your desired image and insert in document. You can customize the image like color, size and width. Just right click the image and choose format picture.
 Here you can resize the image and can add a shadow to it. After customizing the image click the layout tab if you are using Word 2003 then choose a wrapping style and click OK but while using Word 2007 close it. Before inserting in your letterhead template make suitable changes in image.

Give right position to image:

With the help of mouse drag the image and insert it on suitable place in header. You can also rotate the picture for it drag green circle on the top of the picture. When you have done with the size and position of image click Close on the Header and Footer toolbar in Word 2003 or out side the Header in Word 2007. Your letterhead template is ready, now you can use it any time when you have to create document.

Create your document:

For creating your document when you have to use your custom letterhead then click File > New in Word 2003 and in Word 2007 choose the Office button and click New. Select “My Computer” select letterhead template from the list that always shows under the General tab of Templates dialog box then click OK.
In Word 2007 to select letterhead template open recently used templates list. If you don’t find list then click “New from existing” which will show in the left pane at the extreme top. Select letterhead template that you have been created and click Open.
